Poems

Pushcart-nominated poems — compressed, image-driven, and rooted in specific rooms and streets.

The poems are where the compression happens — what takes a story twenty pages, a poem has to do in twenty lines. Two have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize. Most begin as field notes: something overheard on the Green Line, the particular light in a stairwell, a phrase in Austrian German that has no honest translation.

New work appears in journals now and then; a first collection is slowly assembling itself.
