Writing Place

A workshop on setting as more than backdrop — how a street, a kitchen, or a whole city can carry a story's meaning.

Boston, MA

Place is where fiction and memory keep their evidence. We'll look at how writers make a setting do real work — carrying class, history, and longing without announcing any of it — and then write from places you know well enough to be honest about. Expect close reading, timed generative writing, and gentle feedback in pairs.

Who it's for

Anyone writing fiction or nonfiction where the where matters — which is nearly everyone. The class is capped at ten so there's time for every voice.
